Baba says, “The drama is eternal; it has no beginning, middle or end.“
If I were to picture a wheel that is spinning continuously, then I wouldn’t be able to specify the starting or ending point of the wheel. There is no such thing as a start or end point in a circle, neither can I look at a cycle that is turning continuously and ask, when it started turning or when it will stop. I too am part of an unlimited cycle that spans 5000 years. It finishes a turn and then it repeats itself again and again and again; it keeps on spinning.
This cycle or wheel is divided into four equal parts of 1250 years each; I could think of it as similar to the four seasons. There is the spring of the golden age, then comes the summer of the silver age. This is followed by the autumn of the copper age and finally, there’s the winter of the iron age. If I were to think of this in terms of a day, then there is the morning of the golden age, the afternoon of the silver age, the evening of the copper age and then the night of the iron age. Time, is always cyclical. There are different phases it passes through and then the cycle repeats.
So too, the world was in it’s spring in the golden age. Bharat was heaven! There were very few people, about 900,000 to begin with and they were all deities. The kingdom of heaven was ruled by Emperor Sri Narayan and Empress Sri Lakshmi. Everyone knew everyone there, it was family. There was peace, happiness and prosperity. The secret to this happiness was the purity of souls; their very praise was full of all virtues, 16 celestial degrees complete, completely viceless, completely righteous and non-violent. Nature too was pure and sato-pradhan, a reflection of the purity of souls.
As the cycle continued to turn, spring gave way to summer, the silver age. Summer, while not as lovely as the spring, was still heavenly. Bharat was still the land of peace, happiness and prosperity. But the population surged from 900,000 at the beginning of the golden age to about 3,30,000,000 by the end of the silver age. 16 celestial degrees fell to about 14 degrees reflecting the slight dip in purity of souls which led to a slight dip in the level of their happiness as well. But Bharat was still semi-heaven.
Then, it was time for the evening or the autumn of the copper age. Having taken birth after birth over the course of the last half cycle, souls started to forget who they are and started to identify as bodies. Due to this wrong consciousness, souls fell victim to the vices as they started to consider themselves not as pure souls but as the roles or relationships they were in, they compared themselves to each other in terms of wealth, accomplishments, position, appearance etc. This led to conflict and souls were thus robbed of their peace and happiness. For the first half of the cycle, there was only one religion- the original deity religion that was established by the Supreme Father for His children to follow. Religion was not what it is today but rather it meant the righteous way of living based on one set of rules taught by God. But starting with the copper age, human beings established their own religions, with their own set of rules and customs. This got worse as the cycle continued to turn and it became nightfall or the iron age.
In fact, in Bharat, Shiv Jayanti is celebrated at night signifying that God comes when the world is in the depths of the darkness of ignorance, when religion or righteousness has given way to irreligion or unrighteousness, when brother is fighting brother, when children don’t hesitate to kill their own parents and corruption is rampant in every sphere. In short, God comes when souls have become completely bankrupt of all peace and happiness, when they have been completely robbed of their true identity and they have no sense of belonging.
He comes at the end of the cycle, so to speak, when it is pitch dark, to usher in the new dawn. He comes at this most auspicious confluence of the old and new, of the night and day to awaken souls, to remind them of who they are and Whose they are and prepare them for the new turn of the cycle. He tells them the story of the beginning, middle and end, He tells them that the dark winter is now coming to an end and that it will be spring again. But to enjoy spring, I need to be awake! I need to wake up from the deep sleep of ignorance and become enlightened. This is the study of Raja Yoga which makes the soul a ‘Raja’ or a king of their inner kingdom again. Only the one Father can teach souls this study, that is, only He can wake them up because at this time in the cycle, only He is awake, only He is conscious. How so? Because He is the only one who remains outside the cycle of birth and death and so He never forgets; He always remembers. This is why He is called ‘Truth’ because only He knows the truth.
Indeed, the soul, despite having forgotten itself, still remembered somewhere deep down that there is someone who had helped me last time, in the last turn of the cycle, and that He is the only one who can help me again. And so I called out for Him for many births: “O Purifier, O Liberator, liberate us from this sorrow.” Sometimes, I even complained: “Why did You have to create a world if all there is, is sorrow!” When the Father comes, He clarifies all my doubts: Indeed, He is the only One who can liberate me from sorrow and guide me back to happiness. I am Your Father, He reminds me, why would I give My own children sorrow? Yes, I am called the Creator of the World but, He clarifies, I didn’t create this world! I created a different world; then, it was heaven and you were the masters of that world. Now, based on your own actions, you have lost your purity and so has the world. Now, follow only My directions and you will become pure again. When you become pure, the world will go back to being heaven again.
And as He relates to me this story of 5000 years, the Father explains: “You see, this is a cycle, it turns continuously at its own set pace.” What was up before goes down and what was down comes up. When the heaven part of the cycle is up, the hell part of the cycle is down and slowly, as the hell part comes up, the heaven part moves down. People confuse this and think that there is a different world called heaven up above in the skies and a different world called hell that is underground. This is not the case, the Father explains. There is only this one world which becomes heaven for half a cycle and then is hell for half a cycle….as the cycle turns. People even believe that God lives in heaven up above where He is seated on His throne. They believe that this is why He is called the ‘Heavenly Godfather”. But God explains that He is called this not because He lives in heaven ‘up above’; rather, it is because He creates heaven right here every cycle. There is no heaven up above in the skies, nor is there a throne there. What is up above, beyond the sun, moon and stars is the soul world, the home of the Supreme Soul and souls.
As the night comes to an end, all souls have to be made pure and taken back home. Only the One Father can perform this task. When I consider myself a soul and remember the Father, I experience the power of His love. His love and only His love is the alchemy that transforms iron into gold. I receive the strength to transform old sanskars and I return to my original pure state. Many question: “How can this be? I haven’t read this in any scriptures.” That’s true, this knowledge does not exist in any scripture because scriptures are all created by humans starting from the copper age. They don’t know the full truth; in fact, the first half of the cycle is completely missing from the study of the history and geography of Bharat. Only God knows the truth, He is knowledge-full. He doesn’t refer to any scriptures, He relates the knowledge He has within Himself.
In their ignorance, many devotees beg for permanent liberation (moksha) from the cycle but there cannot be permanent liberation, explains God. “Even I am bound in the drama, I have to come at My time every cycle and perform my role.” But, He explains to me, you don’t need to exit the cycle to find peace and happiness, you can find it right where you are by simply remembering who and Whose you are and shifting into the right consciousness. The moment I shift into soul consciousness from body consciousness, I become liberated in life. “Study well“, He tells me. “This is the most elevated study of the true Gita through which you transform from an ordinary human into Narayan and the world changes from a land of sorrow into the land of happiness.“
