Understand the drama exactly as it is

Baba says, “You children have to observe the drama as detached observers exactly as it is.”

Long, long ago, 5000 years ago, Bharat was the golden age. There was no religion except the kingdom of deities at that time. That was called the sun-dynasty kingdom. For 1250 years, it was the kingdom of Lakshmi and Narayan. It was heaven, everything including the elements were satopradhan. Then, for the next 1250 years, they handed their kingdom to their brothers, the warriors and their kingdom then continued. They were not called warriors because there was any war there, no.

At this most auspicious confluence age, God Himself established the original eternal deity religion through teaching Raja Yoga. Those who studied well became the deities of the sun dynasty and those who didn’t study were named warriors. Deities mean those who learnt the art of living victoriously and warriors refers to those who battled- “is this right or is that right?”, “should I do this or that?”, “why is this happening to me?”, “Can this too happen? What will I do now?”. While there was purity, peace and happiness in the land for half the cycle- that is for the golden and silver age- there was a marked difference in the level of that purity, peace and happiness that was experienced. This difference is directly proportional to the extent to which the subject of drama is imbibed at this time. If I don’t imbibe the subject of drama accurately, then I will struggle with it, question it, fight against it, try to change it, or change my part within it, or even try to exit it. It determines the quality of my spiritual pilgrimage, it’s speed and how far I can go- all the way to the sun dynasty in the golden age or to the moon dynasty in the silver age.

The Father explains: This drama is predestined and it repeats accurately every 5000 years. While worldly dramas might have 50-60 actors, this is an unlimited drama. While those dramas are created by human-beings- there is a producer, a writer, etc.,- here, this drama wasn’t created by anyone. This drama is eternal. It has no beginning nor end; it simply changes from new to old and old to new. The world is new when it is the golden age and old when it is the iron age. The current run of this drama is about to end, only a little more time remains. Then, all souls, that is, the actors of this drama will return home with the Father. Then, the same actors will come back onto this physical stage at their respective times just as before to play their respective roles exactly as they have before. And thus, the drama will repeat again, that is, there will be the next showing.

In those dramas or plays, actors can be swapped in and out for each showing. In the case of movies, once the movie is shot and released, nothing can be changed in it; it remains the same each time I watch it. However, even there, when a movie is too old and the reel is worn out, they try to recreate it or in some cases, directors try to remake a movie with a new spin on the story and with new actors. Here, nothing at all about the drama can be changed. Not a single scene can be changed nor can a single actor be added or removed. Each one has received their own part, including God Himself. Many find this hard to wrap their head around. “Why can’t the scene be changed or my part be changed?”, they wonder. I have this question when I haven’t made the foundational point of this knowledge firm in my intellect: We are all souls. Each one of us has our own separate part recorded in the drama. So like the movies, however many costumes (bodies) I change in the drama, however many and whatever actions I perform, they all repeat as is because it is recorded within me. And I, the soul am imperishable and the part within me is also imperishable; therefore, unlike a film reel, this recording never gets worn out, it remains intact forever.

And so no one can do anything about what a soul is like or how the drama is created. Just as one cannot question why the ocean or the sky is the way it is, so too, no one can question the drama. Many ask: “What was it to God that He had to create such a world of happiness and sorrow?” But, God didn’t create sorrow! He is the Ocean of Happiness! He only and always gives happiness to all. The world He created was the golden age, the land of happiness. It is when I forgot who I am and fell prey to the vices that I created sorrow for myself. When anything happens suddenly, then I ought to understand that it must have been in the drama. I cannot say: “This shouldn’t have happened! How could this happen!?” etc. What I need is faith that whatever happens in the drama is right. Baba too is bound in the drama; He explains new points as they emerge within Him according to the drama. There cannot therefore be the question of why He didn’t explain something sooner. When something happens, many say: It is the will of God. God says: It is the destiny of the drama.

No one, except you children, understands the secrets of the drama“, points out Baba, “you must have so much happiness.” Others say: We neither know the Creator not the creation. If those who are the actors in this drama don’t know the beginning, middle or end of it or its duration, that would be senseless, He explains. Indeed, Maya has made everyone senseless; people believe a soul takes 8.4 million births and so they think the duration of the cycle is millions of years. They therefore continue to sleep in the deep sleep of ignorance. I now understand that the cycle is about to end, only very little time is left. Therefore, while others continue to keep busy earning a perishable income which has no guarantee of lasting for even one birth, I get busy in earning my guaranteed livelihood for my future 21 births. I do this by imbibing the jewels of the knowledge I receive from the Father; each jewel is worth multi-millions and is imperishable. But I don’t stop there; I then share what I have learnt with others and show them the way too. The more I share, the more I earn and the higher my status becomes in the new cycle.

This is a theatre of human beings, each one has received their own part. No one can attain eternal liberation, not even God. But here’s the thing: God doesn’t seek eternal liberation, neither do His knowledge-full children. Sannyasis leave their home and families to perform penance such that they can exit the cycle permanently but my penance is to come into the cycle right at the very beginning such that I don’t miss anything. It is the difference of night and day- it is a difference based on receiving and imbibing the knowledge of the drama – how it turns, how long it runs for and it’s beginning, middle and end. “This cycle should constantly be spinning in your intellect, this is called spinning the discus of self-realization.“, teaches Baba. “Don’t become careless about this.” It is when I become careless and forget the cycle that I fall victim to Maya’s storms. She gets me caught up in an isolated, seemingly unfair or unfavorable scene in the drama and gets me to think that the drama is bad. It’s not. I just have to broaden my perspective and see the whole drama. Then, these last few scenes where I might be settling accounts appear trivial in front of what’s in my near future- sovereignty of the world. God says, “Practice being a spinner of the discus of self-realization a lot. Then, wherever you go, you will become like oceans of knowledge.”
