Baba says, “To give everyone the experience of the power of silence is to do special service.“
According to the cycle of time, the condition of the world is increasingly getting worse and this will continue until the new cycle starts, then the world will be heaven again. But as the world gets worse, the atmosphere gets spiritually weaker and weaker and the strength of souls also becomes weaker and weaker. At this point, souls have knocked on every door- they’ve tried religion, science or medicine as well as government but have been left empty-handed. They are realizing that these paths are not really working, that these paths are not true. Souls are seeking the truth and they will discern truth based on experience. They lack true, selfless soul conscious love and peace, this is what they seek. “They will come to you“, says Baba, “are you ready to serve them?“
The traditional process is: I come to the center, I receive the 7-day course, I recognize Baba as my Father, I attend the murli each morning, I start connecting my intellect in yoga with the Father and then slowly I see truth from false; I discern all the falsehoods within me that were the cause of my peacelessness, I work with the Father in removing those falsehoods. I experience His true soul conscious love which gives me the strength to face the darkness, to rid myself of the falsehoods that I’d been holding onto as the truth. But this, is a process and a process takes time and at this point in the cycle, there is very little time left. Not just that, but souls are also thirsty and worn out where they lack the patience, courage and strength that is needed to go through the process. And yet Baba says, “no child should be left behind. Every child has a right to the Father’s inheritance, no one should leave empty handed.” So how can souls receive what they seek – their inheritance of peace, love, contentment, happiness- given the lack of time and ability?
“You should be able to give them an experience“, teaches Baba. In other words, the process needs to be fast tracked. Souls who come toward the end will not want the whole inheritance of sanskar transformation, they will only seek an immediate experience of peace, love, and happiness. They will want to feel worry-free, liberated from fear and anxiety. I should be able to give them this experience through my face and behavior, through my vision and attitude, through my vibrations. “You should do unlimited service through your spiritual personality and take others beyond with just your glance.“, teaches Baba. The personality of Brahmins is complete purity. Even my thoughts have to be pure toward the self and others. When the seed is pure, then my feelings, vision, attitude, face and behavior will all become pure automatically. And in order for my thoughts to become pure, I need to accumulate the power of silence.
Silence doesn’t mean to shut down all thoughts, no; that would be unnatural. The mind is designed to create thoughts but what kind of thoughts must the mind create- that’s up to me, the creator. “Worthy Brahmins are able to relate the knowledge of Baba’s Gita by heart.“, explains Baba. The murli is the treasure store of pure thoughts. When I engage my mind in churning the knowledge, in revising what I am taught, then the mind gets trained to think only pure thoughts. This is also why Baba’s #1 shrimat is Manmanabhav! which translates into: “belong only to Me in your mind“. When I keep my mind focused on Baba, on Who He is, His nature, His character, His task, His knowledge, then I too become like Him. I learn to think and act like Him. Others experience the Father’s presence, His love, His mercy, His acceptance through me. They experience His peace, become unburdened from their fear and anxieties and feel light. They feel truly seen by the Father through my vision; they don’t feel judged, but experience being given honor and dignity. This is taking souls beyond with a glance. But the basis is the accumulation of the power of silence within me. If instead of pure thoughts, I use my mind to churn on what he/she said about me, how what so-and-so did was wrong, the latest social media gossip, world news etc., then instead of accumulating the power of silence, I will accumulate noise. And when I myself feel cluttered and peaceless inside, I cannot possibly give others an experience of peace.
“An introverted soul is a constantly happy soul“, explains Baba. The foundation for even accumulating the power of silence is introversion. The more introverted I am, the more I accumulate silence. Rather than focus outwardly and see others and what they are doing, let me learn to focus inwards. I step inward and touch base with my own truth, my pure spiritual self and then move upward to connect with the Father. I draw His peace, His love, His mercy. All my sins are burnt away and my senses become cool; my personality becomes spiritual, that is, pure. And purity attracts others to itself. “To give everyone the experience of the power of silence is to do special service.“, teaches Baba. The true peace, love and happiness that souls experience through me quenches their thirst of many births, it gives them rest and ends their stumbling. According to the drama, not everyone will recognize the Father and relate to Him as I do; I might be the closest they come to the Father. How am I showing up? Do I have a full stock of the power of silence such that I can be the Father’s instrument in liberating my brothers from their stumbling, their sorrow and anxiety?
“Examine yourself and ask“, says Baba: “Do I become careless about anything?” To become extroverted is to become careless. “Check“, He says, do I pay full attention to this study? Do I waste my time? Have I become soul conscious? Do I do spiritual service from within my heart? “It is not that you serve Me“, He points out, “you serve the whole world.“
