Contentment brings happiness

Baba says, “It is because of your contentment that you remain constantly happy.”

The special blessing of the confluence age is contentment. The seed of contentment is to have all attainments. And the praise is that there is nothing lacking in the treasure-store or the lives of Brahmins. And yet, Baba observes, many children experience discontentment. There is sometimes discontentment in thoughts; sometimes, I am discontent with myself, sometimes I am discontent with adverse situations, and sometimes discontent because of my own fluctuation. I become caught up in this cycle, then become free from it and then trapped again. The reason for this, Baba explains, is that while I do have a full treasure-store, I don’t use at all times the treasures I have attained, that is, I don’t keep them in my awareness. It’s like someone who has a closet full of beautiful clothes but never wears them. I become happy speaking about them but I am not happy in my heart. I have happiness intellectually from knowing that I own these treasures but not in the heart. This is because unless I wear the clothes, I will not experience true happiness. I am aware of the treasures but I don’t really become an embodiment of that awareness.

The sign of contentment is that I will be content in my mind, in my heart, with everyone, with the Father and with the drama. There will be satisfaction in my mind and body regardless of any adverse situation that might rise, any soul that comes to oppose me to settle their karmic account, or whether there is an illness. When the Father Himself belongs to me, all His treasures of peace, strength, courage, happiness…all belong to me. Having attained the Father, there is nothing left to be attained. But when I don’t have the unlimited attainment in my awareness, I put limitations on my attainment. I then think and say that I can be happy when this situation passes, or when this soul goes away or when I feel better. I will also then ask questions: “why me!?”, “Why did this situation come? Why does this soul have to behave this way? Why do I have to manage with this soul? My karma is just so bad, that’s why I have to suffer!” “Those who are content will never ask any questions in any situation“, explains Baba, “because when someone is satisfied, there are no questions.” The sign of those who are satisfied is that they will always be altruistic and always experience everyone to be blameless. They don’t blame anyone. They don’t blame the Father saying that He created such a fortune for them; they don’t blame the drama that such is their part in the drama; they don’t blame any person that their nature and sankars are like that; they don’t blame the atmosphere for being negative; they don’t blame their body that their body is weak.

To be satisfied means to be constantly altruistic and to have an attitude and vision that are free from blaming anyone, teaches Baba. So, the specialty of the confluence age is contentment and the sign of contentment is satisfaction. This is the special attainment of Brahmin life. “If there isn’t contentment and satisfaction, then you haven’t taken the benefit of Brahmin life.“, He explains. “So, BapDada is reminding all Brahmin children: You have become Brahmins and that is great fortune. However, the inheritance and propoerty of Brahmin life is contentment and the personality of Brahmin life is satisfaction. Never remain deprived of this experience. You have a right to it. Since the Bestower and the Bestower of Blessings is giving to you the treasures of attainment with an open heart, since He has already given these to you, then you have to experience your property and personality a great deal.
