Decorate yourselves

Baba says, “follow the Father’s shrimat and decorate yourselves.”

I enroll into God’s school in order to change; I change from a degraded human into an elevated deity. To become a Brahmin means to become worthy of worship because that’s what deities are- they are human beings that are worthy of worship. What makes them worthy of worship- purity. While all deities are worship-worthy, they are all numberwise. Some deities are worshipped regularly, in the right way and others are not. Every action of some deities is worshipped, whereas for others, not all their actions are worshipped. Some are decorated in the right way every day, whereas others are not decorated every day; they are superficially decorated, but not with the right method. In front of some deities, devotional songs are sung all the time, whereas those songs are only sung sometimes in front of others. All are Brahmins, all study the same knowledge and yoga, and yet there is the difference in the result. The difference is based on the difference in levels of purity.

The more I adopt all types of purity, the more I become worthy of worship in every way. “Those who adopt purity constantly with the right method as their original and eternal virtue are those who become worthy of worship with the right method.“, explains Baba. What are all the types of purity? Those souls who fulfill their responsibilities easily and naturally in all their relationships and connections, whether with souls in knowledge or without knowledge, through their every thought, through their constantly pure attitude in every word, deed, through their vision and vibrations- such a soul is said to have all types of purity, explains Baba. “Even in your dreams, let nothing be lacking in adopting all types of purity for yourself and for others.“, He teaches. “For instance, if celibacy is broken even in your dreams, or if you perform actions or speak to another soul under the influence of jealousy or anger, if your interaction with them is based on even a trace of anger, that would also be considered to be breaking the vow of purity.

But because of carelessness, Baba observes, many simply try to make do and move along by saying: “My intention was very good, but the words just came out.” or “That wasn’t my intention, it just happened.” or “I only said that or did that as a joke.” Because I ‘make do’ in my effort, my worship also becomes ‘make do’; the carelessness in observing purity makes me numberwise in being worship worthy. I have to be accurate in my observance of purity. Firstly accurate means to be yogyukt and secondly, it means that every thought and word would have meaning; it wouldn’t be a ‘joke’ or meaningless. Pure souls remain yuktiyukt in every action and constantly accurate, throughout their whole day’s activity. This is why every action of such souls is worshipped, that is, their whole day is worshipped. A viewing is given of all their different activities from the time they wake up to the time they go to sleep.

If any action is not accurate or not constantly according to the timetable created for Brahmin life, then, because of that difference, there will be a difference in the way you are worshipped.“, explains Baba. If I don’t wake up at amritvela or I do wake up but do so under compulsion or I wake up but am lazy; then my worship will also be accordingly. Not to move along in the right way is also counted as a trace of impurity because laziness or carelessness are also vices, He teaches. Any action that is not accurate is a vice. And the reason for it to not be accurate, that is, the reason for laziness or carelessness is a lack of purity- in intention, in motives etc.

The dharna of purity is very deep. The ways and means of actions are based on purity. Purity is not just about gross things.“, He points out. “Simply to remain celibate or to remain free from attachment is not called purity. Many in the world already do this. But purity is the decoration of Brahmin life. Other souls should experience the decoration of purity from your face and your activity a very moment. Let the decoration of purity always be revealed in a practical way in your eyes, your mouth, hands and feet. Let anyone who looks at your face experience purity in your features. Just as they speak of external beauty, let them experience and say that purity is visible in your features, that there is the sparkle of purity in your eyes and the smile of purity on your lips. Let them not see anything else. This is called being an image that is decorated with the decoration of purity.“, explains Baba.

How can I become so pure such that my every feature exudes an experience of purity? “By having yoga“, Baba says, “you can become clean, pure and beautiful. Both you, the soul, and your body become pure.” This is why the mantra He gives to the children is just one word: Manmanabhav! Consider yourself a soul and remember Me alone. This one word is so elevated because it is the means to my becoming pure at all levels and thereby attaining my highest aim to become worthy of worship like Lakshmi and Narayan.
