Baba says, “May you stars of success always remain successful.“
There are the stars of the sky and then there are the stars of the earth, the sparkling stars of knowledge. Those stars emerge at night and the spiritual stars also emerge in the night, the night of Brahma. Those stars don’t change night into day, however, but the spiritual stars become the companions of the Sun of Knowledge and the moon of knowledge and change night into day. Just as there are many different stars in the physical galaxy, in the Godly galaxy too, there are different types of spiritual stars. Some, Baba says, are stars of success while others are stars of hope. The stars of success have one stage that remains constant while for others, their stage keeps on changing. Those physical stars change their position whereas spiritual stars change their stage. Just as in the physical galaxy, there are comets, here too, there are stars that have a long tail of questions in every task: “Why this?, what is this?”. Just as comets influence the earth heavily, these stars with the long tail of question marks also make the atmosphere in the Brahmin family heavy. Where there are questions, the stage of the mind and the intellect become heavy.
The most elevated star is a star of success, explains Baba. A star of success means one who continues to experience success in progress of the self. They will never have thoughts about their own effort such as: “I don’t know if this will happen or not”, “Will I be able to do this or not?”, “Will I be able to overcome this sanskar or not…” etc. They will not have the slightest doubt, they will experience that success is their birthright. The definition of a right is that there is no labor, it is automatically attained. Here too, a star of success will not lose time, energy, and make their stage weak by creating weak thoughts of “whether, if, should” etc. They know success is theirs because of who and Whose they are. They have an honest heart that is focused on following shrimat at every step. And when there is that occasional mistake, they learn and move on. They don’t doubt themselves, they don’t shut down or become disheartened, they move on. To remain down and out is carelessness because it leaves me exposed to Maya. Maya, like a virus, always attacks when I am weak. A star of success always stays strong.
In the same way, even during interactions with others, no matter what someone’s sanskars may be like, a star of success will always be victorious by using the spiritual powers of discernment, tolerance, adjustment etc. As a result, no matter how hard the other’s sanskars might be, they too change because of the influence of the star of success. Similarly, whatever task I may have to do, even if I don’t have the skills or the training or the experience, I don’t worry or stress about it because I have the faith in my intellect that I am but an instrument and that the One whose task it is will get it done through me. I know beyond doubt that He will ensure I receive the tools and co-operation I need to be successful. Sometimes I may have to face situations or tolerate people but that facing and tolerating, because of my attitude to learn, becomes a way for my progress, they don’t hold me back. If I am not a star of success, then the minute a situation comes, I get caught up in ‘Why’ and ‘how’, in the long tail of questions. When I am a star of success, I am not afraid, I see every situation as an opportunity to serve as well as to learn something.
And a special sign of a star of success is that they never have the arrogance of success of the self. They don’t speak about it, they don’t sing their own praise, but to the extent that they have success, they are humble, creative and have a pure and gentle nature. Others sing their praise, but they themselves always sing the praise of the Father. Stars of success never have any questions. They always remain stable in the form of a point, and in every task, remind others of the point of the drama. They. thus, make them destroyers of obstacles and give them power to continue on to the destination of their success. When they have limited attainments, stars of success neither become very happy nor does their happiness decrease if any other situation arises or if there is a lack of attainment; their stage is stable, it does not keep on changing. They remain an image of success in an unlimited way. They remain constant and stable in one elevated stage in the face of success or failure, praise or criticism.
“Now ask yourself“, says Baba, “Who am I? Am I simply a star of hope or am I an embodiment of success?” It is good to have hope but to simply move along as one who has hope and not to experience success in a practical way makes me sometimes powerful and sometimes disheartened. I end up experiencing this fluctuation a lot. And where is a lot of fluctuation, there is tiredness. And tiredness leads to more disheartenment. So, instead of having no hope, it is good to have hope, but someone who experiences being a child with the birthright of success, someone who is an embodiment of success is more elevated. “So“, says the Father, “may you be a star of success and always remain successful.“
