Baba blesses, “May you become a worthy-of-worship soul by invoking your deity status in an accurate way for Deepmala.”

It is Deepawali (festival of lights) and there are celebrations around the world. In Baba’s world, to celebrate means to become. To celebrate does not mean to listen, to speak about it, or to teach it; to celebrate means to become, to become like the deity I invoke. “This is what it means to celebrate Deepawali“, explains Baba. And Deepawali has to be celebrated accurately in four ways, He teaches. On the one side, there has to be burning, on the other side there has to be igniting. On the third side, there is celebrating and on the fourth side, there has to be cleaning. “You have to carry out all four things, this is the celebration of Deepawali“, He explains.

In the world, on Deepawali, they finish the old accounts and create a new one, and on the other hand they celebrate by eating sweets and wearing new clothes. So to settle or burn old accounts and to begin a new account is the memorial of the confluence age. I forget everything old because I have taken a new birth; there are new relationships and new actions. I transform everything into new. The only thing that’s different from the memorial is the part about new clothes- I live in the old costume or the old body in the confluence age; I only receive a new body in the golden age. “Today’s people cannot become deities, that is pure souls with a pure body. This is why they are happy wearing new clothes as a physical memorial“, explains Baba. In terms of celebration, they celebrate for one day or at the most for three days, but I celebrate for eternity! “You celebrate in such a way that the celebration of the confluence age will enable you to celebrate for innumerable births.“, explains Baba.

In terms of igniting lamps, previously people used to ignite lamps according to the accurate method, the attention was paid such that the lamp remained constantly ignited, it was not extinguished. They would pour oil into it, they would practice the invocation accurately according to the method. But now-a-days, Baba notes, they use electric light bulbs instead of deepaks!, they do not celebrate Deepawali. “It has now become an entertainment. The method of invocation, the spiritual effort, has now ended. The love has finished and there is only selfishness.“, He points out. They have the selfish motive to increase their wealth and that is the sole reason they invoke Sri Lakshmi. It isn’t with love for her but with desire. Previously, Baba notes, there was feeling first, but that feeling has now changed its form into desire. The significance has ended and just the custom and system remains. This is why, Baba explains, the accurate form of Lakshmi, the Bestower, does not come to anyone. If wealth comes, it is dirty wealth. It is not divine wealth, it is devilish wealth.

But I invoke my deity status with an accurate method and that is why, I myself become a deity.

When I celebrate, I celebrate while remaining Manmanabhav because I have the knowledge that I am a spiritual being, the child of the Supreme Spirit who is here now, practically. So this entertainment becomes an imperishable entertainment. I burn away the old accounts and adopt spiritual thoughts, actions and words at every moment. “The old accounts don’t remain even slightly, do they?“, asks Baba. If I catch myself saying: “I didn’t mean to say that/do that but it just happened”, then I haven’t burnt away old accounts, sanskars completely. “The old account is Ravan’s while the new account is of Brahma Baba and Brahmins“, explains Baba. “This is why Maya and Ravan still circle around. If you don’t have anything of theirs, they will not come to you. Don’t keep any debts.” A debt makes the soul heavy and weak; it then changes into an illness. “Therefore“, teaches Baba, “finish off the debt in a second with the determined thought that this is old, this is foreign. Burn it.” They light fireworks in the world. “Today, with the match-stick of determined thought, light the fireworks of spirituality through which all this finishes.“, teaches Baba. “Those are fireworks, but you are becoming victorious in the game of the flying stage.” Next, they clean all four corners of their home because cleanliness is great. But to invoke the deity status, Baba teaches, cleanliness translates into complete purity- in thoughts, words, actions, even in my dreams.

“So, claim the deity status through this method.“, says Baba. Brahma Baba became the proof. This is why He became the number one worthy child and claimed the number one status. So all I have to do to invoke my deity status is follow Brahma Baba at every step. It should not be, Baba says, that I know how to burn and how to celebrate but I don’t know how to clean. “Become like Baba in all four aspects.“, He teaches. This, He says, is what it means to celebrate Deepawali.
