Make your efforts intense

Baba says, “Continue to follow the Father and your efforts will become intense.

When I become a Brahmin, I become an effort-maker by default. But the question is what kind of effort-maker. Am I just an ordinary effort-maker or an intense effort-maker? There’s a difference. Maybe I wake up at amritvela, listen to the Murli daily, even teach the course, but, that doesn’t mean I am an intense effort-maker. “What happens after listening and speaking to others?“, asks Baba. A majority listen and speak to others, however, points out Baba, it is only someone who listens and then becomes that is said to be an intense effort-maker. This is what Brahma Baba did. He too was a student, an effort-maker but he didn’t just listen to what the Father said, he actually applied every version into his life and became the practical proof of the Father’s teachings. He became the sample for the rest of the children to follow.

The 16,108th bead of the rosary also listens and speaks to others. However, only 108 come into the rosary of victory.“, explains Baba. The difference is that the 108 become in addition to listening, like Father Brahma. “So check yourself“, He says: “Am I an intense effort-maker or an effort-maker?” An intense effort-maker always looks at themselves and the Father, not at others. I check my every thought, word and action against the Father’s and change myself. “You won’t be able to change them in the final moments; that will be the time of finishing your studies.“, points out Baba. When it is the time for the examination, it’s too late to study anymore. I won’t be able to change myself at that time, that will be the time to attain a reward according to who I am and how I am. “However, you do have a chance now.“, teaches Baba. When the time is over, even if the Father wants to help, He wouldn’t be able to do so. Once the examination is done, the students have answered the questions, then it’s over. “Therefore“, says Baba, “check and change yourselves now.

All I have to do is follow the sample, Father Brahma. If my thought, word, action is not like Father Brahma’s I change it and make it like his. To recognize that I am off course but to continue to indulge myself with: “It is fine, I am moving along, I will get there.” or “No one is perfect yet, there is still time..” is carelessness. “Those who are careless are probably enjoying themselves at this time. They don’t have any concern. They consider their comfort to be everything. So don’t have any carelessness.”, teaches Baba. “Remain constantly alert.” I am a warrior in an army with Baba as my Charioteer. I cannot afford to be careless, I have to be on my guard and follow the Charioteer’s directions accurately. If I am careless, distracted, then I wouldn’t be called a soldier. “So no carelessness, but attention“, He says. But sometimes, attention becomes tension and stress. “Let attention be your natural way“, He teaches. Just as I have the habit of forgetting, I also develop the habit of paying attention. Today, even when I don’t want to say or do something, it comes out, it happens. Why? I forgot who and Whose I am and what it is I have to focus on at this time in the cycle. Similarly, when I develop the habit of paying attention, of remaining alert, it becomes natural.

Creating a habit requires practice over a long period of time. To be constantly alert means to be constantly ever-ready. I am observing myself and changing myself with love. “Pay attention!“, says Baba, “continue to follow the Father and your efforts will become intense.
