Baba says, “Those who serve themselves are also serving Bharat.“

I am at present a world benefactor and in the future, I am to be a world ruler. In order to achieve both these rights, Baba explains, special attention for self-transformation is required. Transformation doesn’t happen only at a set time, it happens throughout the day, whenever I use the power of transformation – as I go about my activities, participate in interactions etc. I realize what I need to do different and on the basis of that realization, I use the power of transformation to make the change. In this new life where I am born as a child to God, everything is transformed, starting from the moment I wake up till I go to bed.

The first transformation right at the moment I wake up ought to be: “I am a soul, not this body“. “This is the first thought of the first second when you awaken. The routine for the whole day is based on this very first thought“, explains Baba. And then the second thought should be: “I, the Brahmin soul, have come to meet BapDada“. These are the very powerful thoughts that become the basis for elevated thoughts, words and actions throughout the day. After this foundational transformation of…”Who am I?”, second comes, “To whom do I belong? With whom do I have all relationships? From whom do I receive all attainments?” After the first transformation of the body, the next one is of the relationships of the body. When I have all my relationships with the one Father and consider myself simply a trustee of all bodily relationships, then this becomes the method to have easy remembrance or easy yoga. When many transforms into one, then difficult becomes easy.

Then, the third transformation is in the way I perform my daily activities. “Always have this thought that I am the living, most elevated image, and this body is my temple, the living temple of I, the living image.“, teaches Baba. So the transformation needed is that this body is not mine but the temple for the valuable idol. I am both the living image as well as the trustee of this temple. This practice is what helps me transform the body consciousness of ‘mine’. Then the fourth transformation is for when I am studying the knowledge as a Godly student. Then, Baba says, have the attention that each invaluable jewel should be imbibed in every thought, at every second, so as to make the present and future fortune elevated. The special thought to bring about transformation should be: “I am not an ordinary student and this study is not an ordinary study. The Father comes daily from the far off land especially to teach me. I am His especially near and dear student. I study the versions of God! The Supreme directions of the Supreme Father are my study and each word of this study enables me to earn an income worth millions.” Then, I realize that if even one word is missed, it isn’t simply a word but I have lost innumerable treasures, I have affected my status for many, many births. Who has come, from where has He come and what is He teaching…these are the highest thoughts to bring about transformation. “Don’t look at the one who is reading the versions but at the One whose versions are being spoken“, teaches Baba. “See the incorporeal Father and the subtle Father.“

After study comes time for service- be it in the lokik family, at a job/business or an alokik project. This is the fifth transformation. In the relationship with the lokik family, Baba explains, continue to serve them while emerging the thought that “I have died alive and so all my karmic bondages are finished. I am now a trustee serving these souls on behalf of the Father.” Then, bodily relationship changes into a relationship of service. When I remember that the world tree is a variety tree with souls of all different types, then I won’t be frustrated. “Don’t ever have hatred or disrespect for these souls, or the thought that these are extremely dirty, vicious souls.“, explains Baba. “Rather, have the thought that I will serve them because I am the merciful world benefactor, they are my brothers, children of the same Merciful World Benefactor Father.” This is called being a true peace maker. But beware, cautions Baba, don’t become attached while serving. The relationship of service is detachment, the embodiment of renunciation and deep remembrance. These are the real qualities of a true server.

In the same way, while at my business, the aim should be to sustain the soul, not just the body. Otherwise, dealings with people will be transformed into the web of Maya, cautions Baba. If you get entangled in this trap, then it will drag you in like quicksand, He teaches. So both the soul and the body need to be nourished simultaneously. The lokik physical work should be converted into the stage of a Karma Yogi. Karma means action and to be a yogi means to have benevolence to others; so such actions become spiritual actions. “Through such actions, you earn a double income through both the mind and the body“, He explains. “So always remember: I am the one who is earning a double income.” Similarly on the field of Godly service, I remember the mantra: “I am an instrument soul, and Baba is working through me. I am acting upon Supreme directions.” When this is the awareness, then the service of establishment will happen in the stage of humility, He teaches.

Ensure, He teaches, that there is a balance between physical facilities and spiritual endeavor. Remember, He says, that these means of comfort are all perishable whilst my spiritual endeavor is imperishable. And something imperishable cannot be based on perishable means. On seeing each physical object, or hearing worldly things, or watching physical scenes, transform them, He says, into alokik spiritual things. This is being an embodiment of knowledge. Finally, when it is time to sleep at night, transform your sleep as well. Don’t sleep on a bed, but sleep in remembrance in the lap of God, the Father. Go to the world of angels in your dreams and thus, transform your sleep and dreams.

When I transform every aspect of my life in this way, from the beginning till the end, then, Baba explains, world transformation will be brought closer. Always have the thought, He says, that when I change, Bharat will change, that is, the world will change.
