Baba says, “The Father gives you His own introduction and also takes you beyond with a glance.“

The praise of the Father, “The One who takes souls beyond with just a glance“, does not apply just to the Father; it is also your praise, Baba reminds me. What does it mean to take souls beyond with just a glance? It means to liberate them or free them from their sorrow, from their fear, from their peacelessness; it is to make them light by granting them the desires of their heart, be it soul conscious love, or respect. It is to rescue them from their deepest pits of despair, of guilt, of hopelessness, of shame and regret. It is to uplift souls who have lost their everything and return them their dignity and honor. But there is very little time left and so many souls who are to be uplifted, rescued and liberated. So according to the time, the need is to serve souls with just a glance; you cannot spend time giving them the seven days’ course, Baba points out. Besides, souls are not in the condition to listen and grasp the knowledge of the seven days’ course; they want immediate help, immediate rescue and liberation from their bondages. That can only happen through a glance.

This is why the most important feature of the idols of the goddesses is the eyes. I might not pay attention to the rest of the idol, might not even find it attractive but I always look in the eyes and find within them beauty, peace, and love. The idols are but a memorial of the Shaktis of this confluence age, Baba reminds me. When souls come to me, interact with me, they look at my face and even within the face, they look into my eyes because the eyes reveal all my feelings. What do my eyes reveal? Do they reveal what my non-living idols reveal or do they reveal something else? When they look in my eyes, if souls find courage, strength, true soul conscious love, kindness, mercy, acceptance, then they are taken beyond their fear, their peacelessness, their hopelessness, their defeat, and their shame with just my glance. It’s like they receive a new lease of life, they feel a sense of belonging, that they too fit in and are accepted. “This service of the Shaktis is remembered in bhakti“, Baba explains. “There should be attraction in the eyes, spirituality in the eyes, spiritual intoxication in the eyes and mercy in the eyes. The heart’s desire of souls should be fulfilled by you.“

But my eyes can only reveal these qualities when I have a full stock of those qualities myself, when they have become my natural nature. I can only liberate other souls from their bondages when I am liberated myself. I can only rescue them when I am a sovereign myself with the courage and ability to rescue others. For this, I need to become free from two things: 1) old sanskars and 2) attachments. “Check yourself to see if there is any type of attachment: whether it is attachment in the form of thoughts or in the form of relationships, attachment in your connections or attachment to any of your specialties.“, teaches Baba. Even if there is an attachment to a specialty, that too is a bondage that won’t allow me to become free. I will always cling on to it for my identity and view anyone else with similar specialties as a threat. Then, I will spend my time ‘protecting my territory’, and staving off ‘competition’. Attachment neither allows me to become bodiless nor does it allow me to be a world benefactor. “How can those who are trapped in their own attachments give the inheritance of liberation and liberation-in-life to the world?“, asks Baba. “Similarly, those who still have their old nature cannot constantly and completely experience the new life and the new age. Because of not having the awareness of brotherhood for every soul, their nature becomes an obstacle.“, He explains. “Now“, He says, “merge the expansion of your life and become the same as the Father.“

When someone else with a specialty comes into the scene, rather than be threatened by them, when I am a self-sovereign, I welcome them in and enable them to use their specialty in a worthwhile way to further God’s task. When someone is angry or rude to me, rather than reciprocate with more anger or insults, I use the power of discernment to understand the root cause of that anger- what is the insecurity that is causing the anger, what is the soul threatened by? When I empathize, I don’t feel anger, I feel mercy. When someone makes a mistake, rather than judge them causing them to feel shame, I merge the mistake into my heart and continue to show them respect. This attitude frees the soul rather than send them scrambling trying to hide their mistake or lie about it. It pushes them to do better next time. When someone is slow at something, rather than get frustrated with them, when I show patience, it calms them down. They feel free to learn and pick up.

“There will be a very long queue in front of you of those who want to claim a gate pass to go through the gates of liberation and liberation in life. If you take long in giving them a gate pass because you yourself are battling and struggling, then it will be too late“, cautions Baba. It is when I become a sovereign myself that my vision and attitude will become benevolent towards others; then I will be able to give every soul a gate pass by giving them the awareness of who and Whose they are.
