To begin with, let’s be sure we understand this word ‘trust’.
Trust is made up of many other qualities, like love and respect.
For example, if you feel that someone truly respects you,
Then you are more inclined to trust their love.
Also, trust is something of the heart, more than of the head.
It is the result of a feeling you get from others,
From their attitude and/or vibrations.
The Real Question
However, the real question about love is not about trusting others, but rather, how much can others trust the love coming from you?
To what degree have you earned the trust of others?
This is important because there is a lot of power in becoming worthy of another’s trust. If you have this power, you won’t need to worry if the love coming your way is true or not.
This power transforms all love – however artificial or false it may be – into something lovely, pure and true.
Actually this is how God’s love works on us.
We had only human, superficial love.
Yet His pure love is transforming that, filling our hearts and transforming our desires.
To earn the trust of others, you need to become completely clean inside.
There’s never any feeling of having given too much, of not having received the return of your love, or of not having been appreciated.
In such a state, ‘giving’ is not done to anyone as a favor, but simply as a way of being, or a way of taking care of yourself.
It doesn’t require anything in return for what it gives. It just flows automatically, like waterfalls do after rain.
The love of a clean heart is unconditional.
This means becoming completely selfless and honest.
When you are clean inside, it is easy to take God’s love. This love is not a question of anything physical.
It is a subtle experience received through your spiritual, incorporeal state.
Because it is a real, pure vibration of love, you trust it automatically.
No one should ever have to instill in you faith in God’s love. You trust it on the basis of your own experience.
Barriers to love
Whatever is in your heart that is not clean, not true, will ultimately begin to act like a wall, obstructing the natural flow of love.
People who say that there is no love in their life, are being blocked by this wall.
Actually, there is love, but they just can’t accept it.
Ego is the clearest example of this.
Ego limits the flow of love by placing conditions on the love you give and receive.
Ego uses love to satisfy its own needs and desires. It produces a love which is deceptive, one which brings only temporary satisfaction.
Ego does not allow you to experience true love or share it.
In fact, ego is capable of destroying your ability to feel love altogether.
The problem nowadays is that love is interpreted on a gross level. Just as many people are attracted to the size and glitter of a fake diamond, so are they swayed by false, superficial love. There is no value in either.
A real diamond is often quite small, but it is flawless. That is where its value lies.
Real love is like a tiny diamond: it is not flashy and it is without a single flaw.
Real love is one hundred percent pure.
There is nothing artificial mixed into it.
It is clean.
There are no ulterior motives in real love.
More about Real love
When I was young, I used to love watching waterfalls. It would start raining and water would start flowing.
When rain hits the ground, it becomes muddy, but while it is still in the waterfall, it stays completely clean.
You can even drink it, it is so pure.
No one, nothing, has touched that water.
It is like that with pure love.
The more you awaken Truth in you, the more you will be able to recognize – and take in – the pure love coming to you from God like clear water.
As you fill yourself with this pure, spiritual love, others will be able to see it.
And they will trust it too, feeling it to be true.
