Baba says, ‘in order to fly back with the Father you must surrender yourself fully: ‘Even this body is not mine”’. Become completely bodiless.
Complete surrender means that I completely surrender the body, mind, wealth, relationships and time. If you have surrendered your mind, Baba teaches, you cannot then use it without Shrimat. It is easy to use your wealth according to Shrimat; it is also easy to use the body, but the stage where the mind does not create even one thought without Shrimat is what is called surrender. This is why Manmanabhav is the main mantra. If the mind is completely surrendered, you will instantly be able to direct your body, mind, wealth, relationships and time towards the One. So the main thing is to surrender the mind, that is, to surrender wasteful and vicious thoughts. This is the sign of a complete moth, teaches Baba. Those who are completely surrendered with their mind will think about nothing except BapDada’s virtues, task and relationships.
In fact, to surrender means to surrender completely, there is no such thing as a partial surrender, Baba points out. And this takes faith in the intellect. Where there is faith, you always surrender to the Father, He says. Baba says, ‘Only when you belong to Me will you become an heir’. Heir means I have surrendered all that is mine with my intellect: this is known as heir quality, says Baba, whatever you have is for the Father, that is, it is for service. This is surrender. To belong to Baba is to become His child. To become a child is to become light of all burdens. I don’t have to think about what to do or how to do as a child. I simply trust in and follow my parent’s instructions. Same here. ‘Baba, all of this belongs to You. I am just a trustee. I will not do anything without Your orders’. I also take directions as to how to carry out earning a livelihood for the body.
But often, we say this but we keep parts to ourselves. To say “Yours” sometimes and “mine” sometimes makes it difficult, says Baba. I fall into body consciousness and follow dictates of my own mind and then when it inevitably gets hard, I say: ‘Baba, this is Your work, You know Your work!’. But before that I say ‘mine’. To finish the consciousness of “mine” means to be a trustee, says Baba. The Father says: Become a beggar. Even that home, the body, is not yours. You have taken it on loan. It is God’s valuable property entrusted to you. Baba has given it to you for Godly service and made you a trustee, so use it for Godly service, not for yourself. And so surrender has nothing to do with where I live physically, it does not mean that I move into a center. Baba asks me to continue to shoulder my roles and responsibilities but to do so as a trustee, according to His directions. Even if, according to the drama, I do move to a center, this would simply be a step on the ladder, Baba teaches, not complete surrender. To surrender completely is to surrender the consciousness of ‘I’ and ‘mine’ irrespective of where I am or what I am doing.
If the body is taken away, another one will have to be given, but you have to break the consciousness of the body and become surrendered, Baba points out. This is dying alive. This is becoming a bodiless soul even whilst in the body and with the thoughts in the mind. When the consciousness of the body has completely finished, then it can then be said that your life is completely surrendered, says Baba. This is also the perfect stage, the stage of soul consciousness. When you become perfect, you then go with Baba. This is also a sign of love; it is a sign of breaking all other relationships and forging all relationships with One. It is a sign of the final time.
And so, in light of the finality of time, let me settle all my karmic accounts and not open new ones. I do this through remembrance…this is the effort, says Baba. This is a battlefield. Maya creates big obstacles in the connection of the intellect’s yoga. Therefore, Baba says: Children, continue to practice becoming bodiless! Remember Me! Make your intellect surrender everything. Surrender means to have remembrance in every breath; you should not forget Baba for even one breath. Each breath should be in remembrance, when I do this, accordingly power increases, tolerance increases, the power to accommodate increases and accounts settle, don’t grow or get newly created. Maya continues to run away. Then, there is lightness and cheerfulness, not the heaviness of burdens.
However, this will not happen instantly, Baba teaches. You have to wrestle with Maya. Storms will come. Don’t think that Maya won’t hit you, no matter who it is. Don’t be afraid. Have faith: Baba, we belonged to You. We took our inheritance from You. Then, having taken rebirth, we now belong to You again. I will definitely receive my inheritance from You.
