Don’t become tired

Baba says, ‘you should not become tired with anything‘. This is an old world, He reminds us daily. Don’t make the mistake of expecting it to function like its new.

If I expect a drunk to stand up straight and talk sense to me, then it’s entirely my fault that I am disappointed. I am expecting something that the other person is incapable of delivering. It’s the same concept with this old world – it is impure, tearing apart. There are as many opinions as there are souls, each motivated by their own agenda. The motto is ‘survival of the fittest’ with fittest meaning the one who can manage to climb up no matter what.

It is a world based mostly on fear as opposed to love – the size of the pie is finite, more for you means less for me. It wasn’t always like this though…

At the end of the first half of the cycle, we forgot who we are and Whom we belong to. That became the basis of our fear and insecurity – we became orphans with no identity, no purpose and no one to look out for me. He was always there but we could no longer recognize Him. We got swayed by Ravan (the five vices) and fell deeper and deeper into the swamp of body consciousness.

Baba is here now and He has come to take me home. He is liberating me from the clutches of Ravan – but I keep running back. After half a cycle of chasing after material possessions, relationships, name, fame, respect and everything else in the hope of finding fitting in and feeling like I belong, the soul has become tired and weak. It’s understandable- you see, we were never meant to carry so much weight on ourselves, we were never meant to worry and fight each other for my ‘fair share’. We were meant to be one, united, loveful, peaceful beings that lived harmoniously with each other and with nature. We were meant to be in a different world, one that was created by God, one where we were free. We lost that world…but God is here now to help us claim it back.

How? Remember. That is the key. It’s not as if I have to learn a new art or a new way to being. I have to re-member that which is within me. The soul has the knowledge within it of who it is and its Father. Remember!

Let me start by listening to the knowledge He gives me every day. Then let me consider myself a soul and in silence, connect with the Father. That will fill me with strength, love, courage and remind me of myself. You see, I look just like my Father, I just have to remember. He helps me. “Remember Me alone“, says Baba. That is the ONLY way to lose the burden and become light again. Yes, the matters of the old world – the cunning, the betrayals, the malice, the peacelessness, the fear- they all come rushing into my mind but the effort is to move above and beyond that to remember what’s important.

The more time I spend with Baba, the more experiences I have with Him, the more the alchemy of His love transforms me- makes me strong, peaceful, loveful and soul conscious. The more I transform, the less I care or become affected by the dramas of this old world. That’s the way out. Let me not make the mistake of fighting this old world, elbowing my way through it like everyone else. That will only tire me more.

Rather, let me retreat inward and upward and simply remember who I am. I belong in a different world, the one I am helping God build.
