Baba says, ‘Those who do good service will become angels. If karmic accounts are still outstanding, there will have to be punishment.’

Angels serve God by serving His children. In order to do unlimited service as an angel, there are two things I have to pay attention to, explains Baba: 1) Don’t waste anything 2) lose weight!

I can only give to others what I have. I cannot serve others if I myself am unhappy or if my stage is constantly in fluctuation. And so Baba says, ‘pay attention that you don’t waste your power and time. If you are unable to accumulate, you are unable to experience happiness or the powerful stage that you want.’ As a world benefactor, I need to have accumulated a stock of time and power, not just for myself, but to serve many other souls. If I continue to waste, I will not experience being full.

Sometimes, I think: ‘everything happens according to the drama..’ but this is deceiving myself. Yes, everything happens according to the drama but according to the drama, I have to be an instrument to attain my elevated status through serving! ‘Maintain this aim‘, Baba says, ‘and budget all your treasures.‘ Remember the slogan: ‘Greater splendor with less expenditure‘. The larger the family the more one thinks of economizing. No one has as large a family as you!, Baba points out, ‘and so keeping all the souls in front of you, do you use your time and power while considering yourself to be an instrument for unlimited service? Are you aware of your stage of a master creator or do you earn just for yourself? Do you use some and waste the rest of it?’ If I am unable to accumulate, then this is a flag that I am moving along carelessly. ‘So check’, says Baba, ‘and make a budget of all your treasures.’

The other thing to check is whether I am being an instrument for unlimited service in every subject. Do you only serve through knowledge or do you also serve through dharna?, asks Baba. You children have to become very sweet and interact with love, otherwise how can you serve?, He asks. In order to pass fully and become an instrument for service, I need to pass in every subject. ‘If you lack something in any one of the subjects, you will pass, but you will not pass fully’, He teaches. One is to pass with honors and the other is to simply pass. Those who simply pass have to pass through the punishment from Dharamraj, that is, they have to experience a little punishment. If I only serve through words but I don’t myself have the dharna, then I don’t experience happiness. If I myself get angry, for example, then my stage immediately falls. That is punishment. Therefore, says Baba, you have to pass fully in every subject. So make a budget of every treasure, that is, don’t waste anything. Use every second and every thought to make yourself powerful and to serve other souls.

Secondly, Baba says, reduce your weight. I am already engaged in finishing the burden of the karmic accounts of the past births but that is not a big thing, says Baba. But if after becoming a Brahmin, if after receiving the knowledge of right and wrong, I still commit sin whether in thought or act, the burden of that is one hundred times greater than the past burden. Check, He says, to see how many such burdens you have taken on yourself due to influence of sanskars, nature, arrogance of your knowledgeable intellect, your desire for name and fame, for attaining for salvation (comforts) for yourself or due to carelessness and laziness? Baba says, ‘you now have to return home. Therefore, continue to renounce the consciousness of bodies. Forget that you are very good or very wealthy and consider yourselves to be souls.’ Always pay attention that, while calling yourself a knowledgeable or serviceable soul, you don’t become an instrument to perform any such acts or spread such vibrations that they would enable disservice to take place instead of service. Let there be service but also remember, says Baba, that one act of disservice negates ten times as much service. Just as you erase something with an eraser, similarly, an act of disservice erases the account of ten times as much service, He teaches.

Yet, when I am body conscious, I continue to think that I am very good and that I am doing a lot of service when in fact, I am not. The sign of this is that there is no experience or power in my remembrance. There is no contentment inside. At every moment, one or other situation or person or possession becomes instrumental in making my stage fluctuate and finishes my happiness and power. The external show will be beautiful and other souls might even be fooled into thinking that I am happy and a good effort-maker but in fact, Baba says, there is nothing but emptiness and confusion inside. The account of name and fame is full but the accounts of treasures and experiences are almost empty. Because of being influenced by obstacles, I will myself be an obstacle in service. Because of the burden or weight continually increasing, many types of waste thoughts and peacelessness of the mind also create many types of illnesses from time to time. Because I am heavy from the burden, my speed of effort cannot become fast. Let alone taking a high jump, I am not even able to run.

So, says Baba, don’t waste anything and reduce your weight! Before going to the court of Dharamraj, become your own Dharamraj. Open your entire account book and check what still remains in your accounts of sin and charity and what you still have to accumulate. Make a special plan for yourself to destroy the account of sin and increase the account of charity. Now, He says, become those that are constantly angels and weightless, that is, those who have the form of light, those who burn away their past sins at every second and in every thought and accumulate for the future, those who are constantly stable in the stage of world servers and who, as great donors, donate all their treasures to other souls, those who become full of powers and become bestowers of blessings through their power. To such merciful souls who are constant world benefactors, BapDada’s love, remembrance and namaste.
